02: 4 Unusual Ways To Get Traffic On Your Website

I am sharing different ways to get unusual traffic on your website. Just pick one or two strategies and hit the ground running. This is one of the best and the fastest ways to get traffic on your website.

Today, we’re going to talk about four unusual ways you can get traffic on your website.

Many businesses struggle to develop new and innovative ways to increase website traffic.

There’s a lot of misinformation online about how to attract more visitors, which can lead to using the same tired strategies repeatedly and not seeing positive results.

When you have a website, it’s essential to promote your brand and drive traffic to your site to increase viewership and prospective sales.

Knowing how to get that traffic to your website can guarantee your website and company’s success.

Ask any online marketer or business owner what they’d like most in the world, and they’ll probably tell you “more clients.”

What often comes after clients or customers on a business’ wish list? More traffic to their site.

You know you are successful at marketing when you’re sitting in traffic on the highway, and all you can feel about is, “Why can’t I drive traffic to my website like this?”

Let’s dive into getting all that traffic to your website:

The issue that most business owners face today isn’t about setting up a website or even starting a blog. It’s about how they can drive traffic to that digital destination floating about in the bits and bytes of the internet world.

If you’re not an online entrepreneur yourself, you’ve likely struggling to increase website traffic and getting those eyes on your online business and your website!

I got you covered!

1. Create a resource page:

The first one is to create a resources page, and this resources page should be dedicated to showering praise on companies, businesses, and individuals you admire. 

For example, if I had a resources page that I did like at the beginning of my business, that page had all the software that I use, or, uh, and all the equipment I used in my business. 

Add a section where you do a shout-out to all the course creators that you’ve bought courses. This helps you with your affiliate income and educates your visitors on what you’ve learned in the past to move your business forward.  

Also, I worked with two business coaches back then with my mindset and social media. 

I did this because when someone came to my resources page. I wanted them to know everything that I was using to move forward or let them know that these are the steps that I took or the resources that I used to grow my business. 

So that is all about the resources page to get that additional traffic to your website.

Make sure that you share about this resources page at least once a month or once every two weeks on your social platforms. Make sure that you tag the accounts you put up on the resources page to repost the Instagram stories. 

So basically, have a resources page where people can know what you’re using in your business. 

Moreover, at the same time, people or companies, or businesses you mentioned in that resources page also share your resources page with their audiences. 

2. Gate your content

What I mean by “gating your content” is to make it clear to your website visitors that the only way to access the bonus content is to share it with their friends or on their social media platforms.

For example, I have an e-commerce store, and that particular store has a blog.

So for people to get additional discounts on their shopping experience or to get people to get extra discounts on particular products. 

They have to promote my website or the specific product on their social media accounts.

And as soon as they shared, the discount code would pop up on the screen.

Several plugins on WordPress, Shopify, and other platforms will help you with your gated content.

This particular strategy can be done with blog posts, landing pages, and sales pages.

For example, if it’s ten ways to grow your business or ten ways to launch your product successfully. 

You can just put up five posts, and then you can gate the rest of the five points.

And unless people share your website on their social platforms, they wouldn’t be able to read the rest of the five.

It’s honestly a win-win situation for everyone!

So this is a quick way to get more eyeballs on your website simultaneously reach newer audiences.

An additional tip is once they are on your website, you can have pixels like Facebook Pixel or Google Pixels on it, and you can retarget or re-market to them.

3. Create Round up Posts

What I mean by this is if you want like a dozen influencers to get excited about your website, feature them on roundup posts.

These roundup posts are just posts where you ask a group of experts or influencers to answer one question on a specific topic.

You must have seen these posts floating around on the Internet; I’ve come across many of them.

But before you reach out to these experts, here is a handy tip.

Make sure that your website looks professional. 

It needs to be good-looking so that when these experts and influencers look at your website, they don’t see that you are not serious about what you’re doing right.

So make sure that you have an excellent or professional-looking website, showing that you are serious about what you are doing.

I get roundup post requests once in a while, and the first thing I do is go on that person’s website and see if my expert opinion is even valued on that website.

Is that website professional-looking? Is that website giving clarity to their audiences or their visitors?

Does that website show that it is serious about what they are offering? Does the website owner show that they are serious about their job?

So make sure that your website is good-looking and then reach out to these experts, and they would not have any reason to say no to your request.

Once you publish the blog post, you can again share this particular blog post with these experts and influencers that you reached out to. 

Let them know that you’ve published this piece, and they can share it with their audiences.

4. Answer questions on HARO

It’s H.A.R.O. which means “hire a reporter out” and what this basically means is reporters post a request for an expert quote, opinion, or story.

And in exchange, they provide free publicity to their contributors.

There was a phase in my life where I literally would open every single email that H.A.R.O. sent.

There are a few options that you could subscribe to on what type of email you want to receive from them, like daily emails or weekly emails.

They also have different categories that you could choose from, so have a look at them as well.

If you are a new business owner, this will help you a lot when it comes to getting that exposure and visibility for your business.

So with H.A.R.O., I gave a quote and opinion on two websites this year.

These two blogs, two big blogs, have gotten me so much traffic.

But I’m getting ahead of myself here!

Once the website or the particular blog post was published, I got an email from this specific reporter that the article was published.

That first week of that blog post is published.

I got 6000 website visitors and after that!!!

Now, after two months, It kinda started decreasing but once in a while, I keep getting these spikes of traffic on my website. 

That’s because that particular blog post that published my quote maybe had a sale or perhaps just had another article, or maybe like the linked to this specific article in one of their blog posts.

So make sure that you visit H.A.R.O., get the hang of it, and I would do like a daily email from them and see if that’s too much. And if you can handle it or if you have are a weirdo like me, you’d respond immediately.
